How the technology works
Sublative uses fractionated bipolar RF delivered through a multi-electrode tip pressed against the skin — energy arcs into the tissue in a pyramid shape, so the deeper dermis receives proportionally more heat than the surface.
That "sublative" inversion (more heat below, less ablation above) is the opposite of fractional lasers and is why downtime is 1-2 days of redness and grid marks rather than a week of oozing. Because RF is chromophore-blind, it's meaningfully safer than fractional lasers on Fitzpatrick IV-VI.
Results on texture, mild acne scarring, and fine lines are real but modest — think three to five sessions for what a CO2 does in one.
Patented technology
Syneron built its whole company on patented elōs and fractionated bipolar RF electrode-array delivery; the Sublative tip geometry that concentrates energy sub-epidermally is the signature IP here. No optical component, no needles — just electrodes.
