The Aesthetic Index is buyer-side research on aesthetic devices, written for the people who actually sign the lease: US medspa owners and operators. We publish real numbers rather than sales decks — FDA records and 510(k) citations, observed US market price ranges for new and used equipment, the fleets major medspa chains actually run, consumable and service economics, and verified owner reviews. Where a number is not documented, we say so instead of estimating it.
Owned by the founder of DNA Distribution, a distributor of Cryoskin and icoone. Reviews of those devices follow our conflict rule → /ownership.
What we publish
These counts are computed live from our own database, verified as of September 23, 2026.
How we work
Our sourcing, scoring and confidence taxonomy are set out in our methodology, and the checks behind every pricing, FDA and consumable figure are documented in how we verify.
Owner reviews are moderated under a published review policy, with verification requirements and FTC-compliant disclosure of any incentive.
When the evidence does not exist, we state the gap rather than estimate a number: pricing without a documented source is labeled quote-only, and clearance is only called "FDA Cleared" when a K-number and a public FDA source back it. How we make money is described in how we work.
Ownership & conflicts
The Aesthetic Index is founded and run by Arty Perlov. Some devices we cover are distributed in North America by DNA Distribution, a company owned by our founder. The founder also owns Digital Niche Agency, a marketing agency for clinics; it has no role in what this site publishes (see Ownership & conflicts). Those devices carry a visible disclosure on every page where they appear and are permanently ineligible for paid placement.
Editorial content, ratings, and FDA data are never for sale. Sponsored placements are always labeled.

Own one of these devices? Submit a verified owner review — $25 per eligible device after publication, email confirmation, accepted ownership proof and the seven-question business questionnaire. ‘Not sure’ and ‘Prefer not to say’ count as answers. Up to three paid devices per reviewer, tracked by email ($75 total under this offer). Positive and negative reviews qualify equally. Devices distributed by our founder’s company are excluded. Existing reviews keep their original offer.
