Overview

First HIFEM device, superseded by NEO

How it worksTechnology and manufacturing

How the technology works

HIFEM — pulsed magnetic fields induce motor-neuron depolarization and force supramaximal contractions; a 30-minute session delivers ~20,000 contractions. Metabolic stress builds muscle (BTL-cited studies show mid-teens percent muscle-mass increases) with a modest secondary lipolysis effect.

Cleared for abdomen, buttocks, arms, calves, thighs. Results need a series and fade without maintenance, like any exercise effect.

Patented technology

HIFEM is BTL's patented focused-electromagnetic technology — genuinely proprietary coil and pulse-sequencing engineering; competitors market around it with "MMS" and similar terms.

Origin

Czech Republic (BTL; US subsidiary in Marlborough, MA).
