Whole-body cryotherapy exposes skin to extreme cold air (-85C via electric refrigeration, no nitrogen) for 2-3 minutes, triggering vasoconstriction, catecholamine release, and a subjective alertness/analgesic effect.
Honest evidence: decent support for short-term muscle-soreness relief and perceived recovery; mixed-to-weak for inflammation markers; essentially none for weight-loss, metabolism, anti-aging, or immune claims.
Note the insider debate: nitrogen vendors argue -85C electric air isn't "true cryo" versus -130C+ nitrogen; the counterargument is skin-temperature drop over a 3-minute session is comparable and no clinical outcome difference has ever been demonstrated. Sell it as recovery and experience, not medicine.
