A search of the FDA 510(k) database returned no clearance under Canfield Scientific. The four "VISIA" clearances that do appear in that database (K120207, K120484, K113337 and one further record) belong to MeVis Medical Solutions AG and are unrelated radiology software, so a buyer searching the name alone could easily attribute them to this system by mistake. Lacking a clearance is not the same as unsafe or illegal, and for a consultation camera it is unremarkable.
Lenders and insurers may ask for regulatory documentation before financing or covering a device without US clearance.
