How the technology works
Combines narrowband IPL (SWT applicators in various wavelength bands), a 1064nm Nd:YAG for deeper vessels, and non-ablative fractional lasers: Frax 1550 (deeper dermal remodeling) and Frax 1940 (superficial, water-targeted).
The IPL applicators use dual-filtering to strip unnecessary short and infrared wavelengths, so more delivered energy is absorbed by hemoglobin and melanin rather than heating epidermal water.
Treats photodamage, rosacea, port-wine stains, telangiectasias, pigmentation, hair removal; Frax applicators handle texture, actinic damage, acne scarring. Sub-millisecond pulses make it notably effective on fine vessels.
Patented technology
SWT (Selective Waveband Technology) is dual-mode filtering — optical cutoff plus a water filter removing wavelengths above ~950nm — producing narrowband output at lower fluences for the same clinical effect; why Nordlys IPL is regarded as more comfortable and safer near the epidermis.
