How the technology works
2940nm Er:YAG — the wavelength most strongly absorbed by water — delivered in Aerolase's short 300-microsecond-class pulses, ablating micron-thin layers with minimal residual thermal damage ("cold" ablation), shortening healing versus CO2 at comparable superficial depths.
Titrates from light epidermal glow peels to deeper full-field resurfacing for rhytides, photodamage, texture, scars. Full-field rather than fractional: downtime tracks depth — light peels 2-4 days, deeper work 5-10.
Patented technology
The same 650 Microsecond platform philosophy applied to erbium — compact air-cooled head firing short-duration 2940nm pulses; ablation with less lingering heat, not a novel delivery system.
