The closest thing aesthetics has to a build-your-own Ferrari: a US-made expandable platform where you pick modules (TRL, ProFractional, HALO, BBL HERO, ClearV, ClearSilk) and pay accordingly — figure ~$150K stripped to ~$300K+ fully loaded. The economics work because there are zero per-treatment consumables and Sciton holds resale value better than any brand in the category. The catch is the up-front check and Sciton's minimal-discount posture; you're buying an ecosystem, not a device. If you can only justify two modules, HALO + BBL HERO is the revenue combination that pays the note; add TRL/ProFractional only if a physician is actually doing deep resurfacing.

How it works

The science

A chassis that fires whatever you bolt onto it. TRL (tunable resurfacing laser) and ProFractional use 2940nm Er:YAG — a wavelength water absorbs so strongly it vaporizes skin layer by micron-precise layer, full-field (TRL) or in microchannels (ProFractional). HALO combines 1470nm non-ablative heating with 2940nm ablation in one pass. BBL HERO is high-output broadband pulsed light with swappable filters for sun damage, redness, acne and hair. ClearV and ClearSilk are 1064nm Nd:YAG handpieces — ClearV traces visible veins, ClearSilk gently bulk-heats for tone and texture with no downtime.

Sciton's dual-fiber architecture lets multiple laser modules share one chassis; TRL's tunability means the operator independently dials ablation depth versus coagulation, which competing erbium lasers can't do as cleanly. HERO is genuinely faster BBL delivery — 3-4x speed with in-motion technology.
