The science

Pairs a true 755nm alexandrite (melanin-greedy — fine and light-skinned hair) with a 1064nm Nd:YAG (deeper, melanin-sparing, safe for Fitzpatrick V-VI and PFB) in one console. Moveo delivery replaces high-fluence single shots with rapid low-fluence repetitive passes in constant motion through a cooled sapphire tip in direct skin contact — heat accumulates gradually in the follicle to lethal temperature while the epidermis stays comfortable, and contact delivery reduces the light scatter/reflection losses of gapped handpieces. Cleared uses: permanent hair reduction on all skin types, benign pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, wrinkles; Moveo Skin/Pigment modes extend into gentle photorejuvenation. Still 6-8 sessions — no delivery method changes follicle biology.

Patented tech

Moveo is DEKA's proprietary in-motion, contact-cooled sapphire handpiece system — the real innovation is thermodynamic (gradual sub-threshold heating plus index-matched contact optics claiming ~20% better energy transmission), not a new laser medium. It genuinely reduces pain and epidermal risk; it also makes outcomes more technique-dependent — train staff properly.

Practices where hair removal is a core volume driver — especially ethnically diverse markets where treating IV-VI safely with alexandrite-level efficacy is a genuine competitive moat — plus medspas wanting a gentle pigment/photorejuvenation adjunct. High-volume chains may still prefer faster big-spot diodes for pure throughput.

Medical director & delegation

LHR delegation is all over the map — laser technicians/aestheticians under medical direction in some states, RN/NP/PA or physician in others — so your staffing model, not the laser, determines economics.

Contraindications & screening

Active tan/recent sun (even Moveo has limits), photosensitizers, active infection/herpes, pregnancy by convention, no treating over suspicious pigmented lesions; skin-typing and test spots remain mandatory on darker skin despite the safety margin.

Warranty & service

Cartessa provides the US service layer over DEKA hardware — typically 1-2 years warranty, extended ~$8-15k/year; distributor-model service means parts from Italy, so negotiate uptime guarantees and loaner access. El.En.-built lasers have a solid reliability reputation.

Resale & used market

Holds value better than most aesthetic lasers — used AZ/AZ+ at ~$45-80k, supported by strong demand for the Moveo story. Cartessa won't warranty gray-market units; used buyers budget third-party service; sellers do better on this than almost any RF box.
